Last week the Dutch National Opera opened its anniversary season in festive style with Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier.
This new production received glowing reviews in the press, with praise for “excellent soloists such as Camilla Nylund (Marchallin), Paula Murrihy (Octavian), Peter Rose (Baron Ochs).” (Theaterkrant)
De Volkskrant awarded the production 5 stars, with acclaim for the young German stage director Jan Philipp Gloger who “has eye and ear for countless exquisite details in Der Rosenkavalier from Strauss”.
“Camilla Nylund was a glimmer-voiced Marschallin, coolly elegant but given to vexed implosions.”
