Camilla Nylund was born in Vaasa, Finland.
She began her training with Eva Illes and
completed her vocal studies at the Salzburger Mozarteum.
A multiple prize winner, Camilla was from 1995 to
1999 an ensemble member of the Niedersächsischen
Staatsoper Hannover. From 1999 to 2001 she joined
the Sächsischen Staatsoper in Dresden, where
she received the Christel Goltz-Preis in 2000. Since
2001she is had an artist-in-residence contract in
Dresden and in 2008 she was awarded the title of
Kammersängerin by the State of Saxonia.
As a guest Camilla Nylund worked at
the Wiener Staatsoper, La Scala Milano, Bayrische
Staatsoper München, Finnische Nationaloper,
La Fenice Venedig, Carlo Fenice Genua, Vlaamse Opera,
die Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Köln,
Staatsoper Hamburg, Königliche Oper Kopenhagen,
die Deutsche Oper am Rhein and De Nederlandse Opera.
In 2004 she made a very successful debut as Leonore
in Fidelio in Zürich under the direction
of Nikolaus Harnoncourt, followed by performances
of the same role with conductor Sir Simon Rattle.

Freischütz), Eva (Die Meistersinger
von Nürnberg), Freia (Das Rheingold),
Gutrune (Götterdämmerung), Gräfin
(Capriccio), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus),
Lisa (Das Land des Lächelns), Mimi
(La Boheme), Nitocris (Belsazar),
Tatjana (Eugen Onegin) Ann Trulove (The
Rake's Progress), Marschellin (Rosenkavalier),
Elisabeth (Tannhäuser) and Arabella
(Arabella).
Camilla Nylund works regularly with various
international orchestras and has performed
all of the concert repertoire for soprano in many
important concert halls all over the world. She
has worked with conductors such as Nicholas Harnoncourt,
Adam Fischer, Gary Bertini, Leif Segerstam, Esa-Pekka
Salonen, Helmuth Rilling, Nicholas McGegan, Roger
Norrington, Osmo Vänskä, Philippe Herreweghe
and Jukka-Pekka Saraste and works regularly with
Sir Simon Rattle. In August 2000 she made her
debut in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam with Richard
Strauss´ Vier letzte Lieder and
in 2001 she made her debut with the Chicago Symphony
Orchestra.
Upcoming engagements are the
title role in Rusalka in Salzburg, Donna
Anna (Don Giovanni) in Dresden, Ariadne
(Ariadne auf Naxos) in Vienna, Hanna
(Die Lustige Witwe) in Hamburg and Elisabeth
(Don Carlos) in Tampere, Finland.
Camilla Nylund can be heard on CD labels
such as Hänssler, Deutsche Grammophon, cpo,
harmonia mundi, Koch/Schwann, Opus 111 and Ondine.
