CAMILLA NYLUND

Born in Finland, Camilla Nylund is one of the world's leading lyric dramatic sopranos. Her signature roles include Leonore (Fidelio), Elisabeth (Tannhäuser), Salome (Salome), Rusalka (Rusalka), Ariadne (Ariadne auf Naxos) and Elsa (Lohengrin). She is a frequent guest in major opera houses, including Wiener Staatsoper, La Scala, Covent Garden/London, Oper Frankfurt, Bayerische Staatsoper, Liceu Barcelona, Finnish National Opera, Hamburgisch Staatsoper and the Nederlandse Opera. From 1999 until 2001 she was a member of the ensemble of the Semperoper in Dresden and returns there regularly as a guest. In 2011 she made her debut in Bayreuth as Elisabeth in Tannhäuser. Camilla Nylund regularly appears with the world’s leading orchestras and conductors, such as Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, Marek Janowski and Fabio Luisi.
